Johan Santana dominated striking out 16 Jefferson Park batters as the red-hot
Caracas Leones beat the Jefferson Park Penguins by a score of 2 to
0.
Santana(14-4) was simply too much for the Jefferson Park batters. He gave up
just 2 hits and no walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Caracas had only 6 hits for
the game.
Keith Foulke gained credit for his 23rd save. Randy Johnson(15-5) took the
loss. Despite the loss, he struckout 12 Caracas batters in 7 innings.
Santana was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty
confident in my pitches this afternoon. But, I had great support behind me
and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!'
